Ethnopolitik in Bosnien-Herzegowina liefert erstmalig im deutschsprachigen Raum eine systematische und aktuelle Grundsatzanalyse aller relevanten Entwicklungen in Bosnien-Herzegowina seit dem Kriegsende im Jahr 1995 bis 2009. Es bietet als Einstieg eine fundierte Darstellung der widersprüchlichen historischen Entwicklung der nationalen Frage und des Aufstiegs des Ethnonationalismus. Auf die Analyse der "Fallen" des Dayton-Friedensvertrags (1995) folgt eine systematische Untersuchung politischer, gesellschaftlicher und sozioökonomischer Entwicklungen und Gründe für die ungebrochene Virulenz der Ethnopolitik. Das Buch präsentiert zudem eine überzeugende Erklärung für die Schwächen der internationalen Gemeinschaft bei der Demokratisierung Bosniens und seziert jene Faktoren, die den Europäisierungsprozess behindern.
Ethnopolitics in Bosnia and Herzegovina presents for the first time in the German speaking area a comprehensive and up-to-date analysis of all major trends in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the 1995 General Framework Agreement for Peace brokered in Dayton until 2009. The discussion of the contradictory development of the Bosnian national question and the rise of ethno-nationalism is followed by the inspection of all relevant political, societal and socio-economical developments. The volume further examines systematically the 'Dayton hidden weaknesses', looks at the reasons for the unbroken rule of ethnopolitics, presents a convincing explanation for the weak democratisation performance of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and dissects the factors hindering the Europeanization process.
